First Night Hartford has been Hartford’s cherished New Year’s Eve event for over two decades.  With the support of many sponsors, First Night Hartford brings some of the finest artistic talent into downtown Hartford for a night of outstanding music, art, laughter and celebration on December 31st 2011.  

First Night Hartford would like to continue the tradition of bringing this alcohol-free family friendly event to thousands of people of all ages.  The day includes two spectacular fireworks shows in Bushnell Park that can be seen throughout the city by thousands of visitors and residents at 6 PM and Midnight.  Multiple venues such as the Public Library, City Hall, The Old State House, State House Square, Wadsworth Atheneum, Center Church and Cultural Centers participate in the fun as they showcase many talented musicians, artists, performances, and activities while welcoming the public on the New Year’s Eve holiday.

Our sponsors, donators and volunteers have been committed to providing affordable entertainment to audiences of all ages as they ring in the New Year in Hartford.
